a welcome post

I'm already quite prevalent on social networking sites. I have a Facebook and an LJ (both private), a Tumblr and a Twitter. I probably don't need another one. So why bother to make another blog? The simple answer is to follow the blogs of my BFFs, animator Natasha Gibson (for whom I was the script consultant for her recent short Donated Memories) and new media badass Sarah Turner, as well as the author Kate Davies, for whom I've done some work in the past.

So who am I? My name is Hayley, I'm from Greater Manchester, England, where I still live and work. I'm a graduate of Creative Writing/Film Studies, and am now trying to work out just what to do with my life. But don't fret, this blog is not going to be dedicated to existential angst (for that is why Livejournal exists), but for sharing my creative output for the three people who may be interested. I'm a novice photographer. Literally, I have no training, though I should hopefully be starting a course some time before 2011 is through. This blog is also to keep me motivated with my writing, something which is proving difficult outside of the relative safety net of university. I also gained a small amount of internet fame by making a crappily animated cartoon series about the character Reid Oliver from cancelled US soap opera As The World Turns.

A lot of my photography will be gig photography, so if you're into Take That, you may like my next post.
